I SWEAR!

Ok, yes, I know, I know I’m always saying I won’t do it again, but this time is the last one, I SWEAR… :P

Well, I’ve open my last fanlisting (ahem! so far…): it’s devoted to the Six Feet Under (A dos metros bajo tierra in Spain) character Federico Díaz.
(¡Évos tan riquiño!). :P
Well… Whatever. The url is http://federico.diletante.net and you may enjoy the layout if you are morbid enough ;)

Incidentally, it’s managed with the bilingual version (English/Spanish) of the script PHPfanBase2 (originally written by Sasha) that I made. This bilingual version is available for public usage, so you can go to (: Hablando en cristiano, deal with the Spanish there ;) and download the zip file for free :D.

Incidentally, today’s been fun: some so-called friends of my sister wanted to kill her or something so they dated her and another two friends of us at a fixed time in the middle of the fair yard. A while after I managed to come up with a made up story about an urgent rehersal and took all three from the place where they were. It’s been sort of funny, but the sad thing is that they (we) all are around 25 and I find it rather annoying all this stupidity of jealousy, revenge and so on (I’ve always hated it, but it seems that many people enjoy this crap a lot :()

Well, we hadn’t had an urgent rehersal this evening, but the truth is that we’ve got a performance tomorrow. I’ve done those for ages, but this will be the first one after almost 3 years of “inactivity” so I’m “a bit overexcited”, but I’m sure that we will all have fun, at least ;)

Mmm, I’m missing certain friend of mine… Whatever. Good day.

NOT EXPECTED

I have just come from a meeting with one of Calítoe’s fans… I mean, it’s been in “earthly life” where we have met. HE seems to be a great fan of my .:.Calito(h)eces.:. (an indescriptible sort of blog I’ve got in Spanish) and since he is living right now in my area and was a bit bored… He asked me to have a coffee, which is what we ask here when you want to go out for a while.

Well, it’s obvious that I was a bit bored too ;) If it had been yesterday I would say “no, thanks”, because my best (male) friend came to visit me at the country house and since he is going to study in Norway for a whole year, we try to see each other as much as we can these last days before his departure. In the afternoon some friends of my sister’s boyfriend came with us to the river, and in the evening I had that accordion rehearsal, but today was such a boring day that I wouldn’t mind accepting his invitation, and I even didn’t mind him to phone me about three times before meeting me :D

Of course I had to make up a good story to tell my parents (that one of “I’m going to meet someone I know from the Internet” is not valid :P). Yes, I’m 24, but they are still being MY PARENTS, you know.

Well, the whole thing turned out to be quite… Interesting :D We’ve got a fair in Pontevedra these days and we where wandering round there and talking about six hundred million things. It’s been nice. I must confess that, in the beginning, I thought this guy was much crazier than I am, but now I think we are almost at the same level, that is: completely sane ;) Anyway, I don’t recommend anyone to meet in “real life” someone you have just met in the Internet, I mean, I’ve made a lot of nice and good friends through the Internet, but when I’ve met them “in real life” it was after at least 6 months of “Internet relationship” with frequent e-mails and stuff.

Whatever, I’m glad that the whole thing has ended in such a good way ;) He hasn’t tried to rape me or something, so I might meet him again :D

By the way, now CollectaNtea.org and Collectanea.org (the last is the one you are visiting now) don’t share webspace anymore, and that means… More webspace for each domain :D I might open hosting again ;) I’ll see…

“WEBJOB” AND “FOLKJOB”

Sorry if someone gets dissapointed about this, but I am working mainly in my “non-English” sites, that is Jacques Gamblin, le succès de la discrétion and (: Hablando en cristiano, but I will resume my attention on the other ones as soon as I have finished retouching those I have mentioned.

And as for “earthly life” just mentioning that the Galician Folk group my cousin Bárbara, my sister and I used to be a member of, has hired our services for 4 performances, and that means a lot of hard work (yes, rehersals can be a real pain, as some of you might be aware), but some extra money too ;)

I prefer dancing rather than playing, and I’d really have to take up dance rehersals again (I had to quit 4 years ago because of my studies and also because I got fed up with some people there :P) because I should lose some weight (oh dear, I’d never think I’d have to say that one day… :() But oh well, playing music is quite a good exercise too, specially when you play “my” instrument ;)

Incidentally, my sister plays the bagpipe, my cousin the drums and I play the accordion and the tambourine…

And now I come to think of it… I wonder who will be number 700 ;)

MY TRIP (chapter 2 of 2)

Well, here goes the rest of my “summer adventures” (so far ;)).

My godmother had told me that if it was not possible going to Amsterdam, we would make another kind of trip. I think we both suspected that this would happen, since that friend of hers is a bit absent-minded :P

I guessed we would visit a convent of nuns in Toro (which is a town nearer to my home place than to Madrid, by the way), because my godmother goes there each months to teach them music notions to play their gorgeous XVIIth century organ. I fancied the idea because I like that kind of nuns (as you might know, there are several “kinds” of nuns, as everything in this world ;)) even though I am a faithfully believer in atheism :D (if you read my post of those days you may read something about me being a nun if they were not religious :P).

Well, I was in the train when my godmother confirmed me that we were not going to Amsterdam. When I arrived to Madrid it was really hot there, I hadn’t visited Madrid in the summertime for ages and I suddenly remembered that only tourists and dorks stay in Madrid in the summertime :P (sorry, no offence intended… In fact, I am offending myself :P), anyway, I wasn’t aware in that moment that THIS would be the hottest summer in the whole continent since Bob knows when…

I had a nice time in the following two days there because I met some online friends that I had never met “in real life” before, and it was really fun. But nights were horrible: it’s not easy trying to breathe when the air is at 30ºC, as you might be already aware…

My godmother couldn’t stand the hot either so we decided to part towards the North the following day and spend the week-end round there, and that very night we received the phone call of that “absent-minded” friend of my godmother saying that she wanted to go with us… Oh, she is from the Canary Islands, by the way, and I find it a bit difficult to deal with Canary temperament in general terms. Maybe I am too cold to share it. I find them “too sincere” (I do defend hypocrisy sometimes :)). I am used to my godmother’s “sincere” way of being (she is always criticising my own behaviour, but I just shout my mouth and the ‘episodes’ don’t last for long), but that woman’s was too much. I managed not to be rude with her, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t feel like killing her a couple of times…

Whatever… I won’t explain everything. Just mention that we travelled by car and we visited Zaragoza (their webpage is quite crappy, but I love the tune they’ve got there :D), Jaca (just next to the Pyrenees), a lot of historical tiny villages in the valleys round there and we even crossed the Pyrenees to France and… Visited Lourdes! It was just crazy: we crossed by car impossible and dangerous mountains and we suddenly arrived there. I though it would be much more “kitsch” that I expected, but all that merchandising of faith… Quite sad. Anyway, I bought about two tons of “Lourdes tablets”; my ‘yaya’ (maternal grandmother) used to bought them for us when she would go to Lourdes, and –since they were “the virgin’s tablets”- my sister and I believed they were magical or something. It was funny seing my sister’s expression when she saw those tablets again :D

Well, after our “Lourdes Odyssey” we returned to Madrid, but on our way we slept in Sos del Rey Católico: the town where the King Ferdinand of Aragón (Isabella I of Castille’s husband) was born. We slept in the Parador: really comfortable and… Interesting :D

Incidentally, the only moment in which the temperature was not horribly high was when we were somewhere around the Pyrenees, the rest… Beautiful, but barely standable.

When we got to Madrid, the Canary friend kissed us goodbye (by that time I had already got used to her :P) and we stayed there for two more days in which I met several relatives of mine which are also good friends of mine and that couldn’t run away from Madrid’s heat.

Night’s were as horrible as I expected… I didn’t remember hot could be so disgusting…

The next day my godmother decided it was time we should run away again up to the North, so we started our way to Galicia, but we stopped in Toro (with the nuns, ¿remember?) where we stayed for one night (not so much hot there… But only a couple of degrees lower :(). We also stopped in Valladolid and stayed there for two days and nights at the place of a good friend of my godmother who I know since I was very little. Hot there was horrible too, but by that time I didn’t remember how natural cool air was like…

After Valladolid we got to Pontevedra and the village where our country house is… Not as many degrees here, but much more humidity than the other places where we had just been to, so this is almost as disgusting as in Madrid or Valladolid, or even worse, because you sweat a lot here… Anyway, we’ve got nice rivers and beaches near home, so that’s what I am doing when I am not in the computer: diving in the river.

I wish you all are dealing with hot the best that you can, I mean it… And consider you a really brave person if you have read all this :D.

Ciao!

MY TRIP (chapter 1)

So, in order to satisfy some visitor’s curiosity I will relate what I’ve been up to between the 24th of July and the 5th of August ;)<

First of all I must say that this is my first summer in a long time (and probably the last one :P) without nothing really important to do, and in theory my plans for the summer were the following: going first to Amsterdam with my godmother and a friend of hers and, after that, travelling by Interrail around the UK and Ireland with a so-called mate of mine :P We were supposed to be around the UK & Ireland between the 7th and the 19th of August, and I had been preparting everything since May.

My so-called mate hadn’t called me or anything since the 11th of July (it was HIS idea doing the Interrail thing: I have already visited England 5 times, and though I’d like to visit other places in the UK, I only said “yes” because HE was really interested in finding a partner for the trip and HE was going to pay for the lodgement we would need since I was going to be his translator in exchange :P). Suddenly this guy didn’t seem to be interested in the trip any longer (I sms him and try to get through him about 5 hundred times without response), so my parents begun to think I was making everything up to go on my own (they were almost guessing the truth, by the way, I was getting tired of the unresponsible behaviour of this guy and I had begun to think about going on my own ;)), I am 24, yes, but my parents (specially my mother) are still being “my boss” so they discouraged me to go on with the arrangements for the trip, and when I say “discourage” I mean ‘no financial help in case you can’t pay everything you will spend’… Witty trick :( I don’t earn that much. Incidentally, that guy phoned me YESTERDAY (yes, 8th of August) saying “he had forgotten about the trip” :O ABOUT ****ING TIME!!!

Anyway, my godmother was “still there” in July and she phoned me the 23rd of July asking me to go to Madrid -where she lives- the day after: the 24th of July (our saint’s day in case you are interested in knowing that detail: I’m not such a catholic but it’s tradicional celebrating it here) because her friend would know the dates of our journey to Amsterdam the 25th of July (national day of Galicia in case you want to know that detail too, and yes: each Autonomous Community in Spain has got a “national day”), and our departure day should be either the 26th or the 27th.

It was raining when I catch the train to Madrid… The last rainy day so far in the usually rainy Galicia…

When I was in the train, my godmother phoned me telling that her friend called too late to the travel agency, so she couldn’t get tickets to Amsterdam… :(

[To be continued if someone is really interested in knowing what happened afterwards :D]

THE DEVIL HAS VISITED US ;)

Funny, I was visitor number 100 of collectanea.org (from the computer of my faculty: the one I usually use doesn’t count for the stats thingy), Ajda was visitor number 500 and Frauke has been number 666 ;) I mean, I know them all (more or less :P)

I’m having a nice summer in spite of the heat. Here (in Galicia) hot is easier to deal with because of the deep vegetation, the beaches, the rivers (I love rivers where you can swim :D) and so on.

And yes, I’m working in a lot of web things (I like when I am extremely bussy just because I want to :D), but things are going slowly (hey! I have barely survived to my Ph.D, I need a break! :P), so if you feel like complaining because you haven’t seen new stuff round here for ages, first go check every single site I run besides the sites of my beloved hostees and then we’ll talk ;)

That’s all for now. We’ve got a lot of guests at home tonight and I should be with them (my godmother, the family of the Russian godchild of my parents and three more people… Oh! Who cares?!). My house is crowded often, but sometimes I don’t feel like staying with our guests for too long. I like these ones though :D

Ciao!

Have a nice day :)

Calítoe.:.

I’M BACK :D

My parents and godmother (the one who I was travelling with) will get mad at me: the first thing I am doing after arriving home and cheering my dog is “coming here” ;D

I had lots of fun out there, but this summer is one of the hottest ones in Spain since ages ago and I’m glad of having returned home, in the North West, next to the Atlantic Ocean where it’s a bit easier to breath than in other places right now.

Well, sorry if my English sounds funnier than usual, but I’m pretty excited today and I’m writing just everything that comes into my mind :P I’ve seen that although the summer is quite a “visitors killer” in the Internet life, the webmasters out there have been pretty bussy these last days :)

Frauke, a German girl that I met thanks to the Languages & Linguistics FL has uploaded her personal site. I find it really interesting: I share some of her interests and I find it entertaining reading about things of which I am not a great fan, but that I find somewhat interesting too.

“Interesting”, “interests”… I must really like you, Frauke :D In fact, I already consider you one of my friends ;) (I mean it! And “vielen Dank” for your comment!).

Oh! I see that Teja has closed the clique she had hosted at my hosting domain… :( It’s a pitty, I liked it… Maybe she’ll change her mind…

Hey! But Sabrina has got a new layout! And she’s added a lot of content! You’ve got a really nice gallery there, Sab. As soon as I finish processing the 56 e-mails (spam not included) I’ve still got unread in my boxes I will go check everything there. I liked quite a lot what I’ve seen so far :D

Oh, and I will definitely join the werewolves fanlist Helen has just uploaded. I’ve always prefered werewolves to vampires :P

And I see that Ajda has got a new layout (that’s not really a piece of news ;)).

Well, while I was writing all this pile of words :P I’ve almost finished answering all my pending e-mails, and I’ve begun making and outline of my future projects in the Internet… You’ll see ^_^

Yes, I love travelling, but I missed my laptop and you all guys quite a lot. Next time I’ll take the Internet with me ;)

Calítoe.:.

BE BACK SOON

Hi there,

I am somewhere between France and Spain running away from the hot weather that collapses the rest of Spain, even the “wet” Spain is almost dry right now :P

I guess I’ll be back to the Internet life ;) by the 6th of August, so if you have joined any of my fanlistings, be a little more patient before reaplying, thanks :D

Take care, have fun.
Greetings from the Pyrenees :D
