I won’t have time to post a long entry about the new year here tomorrow, but I’m sure most of you won’t be around to read it either
Just in case, I take this opportunity to write my best wishes here now.
I wish the very very best in 2004 to all the visitors I receive in every single site I run. Here’s a thingy I made to all of you, it’s in Spanish (I haven’t had the time to make several versions this year, sorry!), but I’m sure you’ll understand the basics… Anyway, it’s intention what counts, isn’t it?
Just click here to see it.
I’d also like to send a special greeting to my beloved hostees: Mercredi, Adrian, Ajda (please, come back soon!), Helen (I hope I’ll be able to chat with you againg soon), Sabrina & Shae (Priviet! ;)).
And I send another special greeting to my dearest supporters Frauke (good luck with those bl**dy scripts 8-)) & Beth (hugs and kisses
).
So, Happy 2004
Take care, have fun.
I forgot to mention that the day I left to London from Madrid I got a USB Flash Hard Drive from Tere
Tere is a girl from Madrid I meet from time to time and who was living with us in our country house this summer (Tere, I’ll love you for ever! And not only because of your great presents!! :geeked:).
I love presents, but I never ask for them and I don’t get ungry or dissapointed at all if I don’t receive presents (anyway, not receiving ANY presents at all must be really sad 8-O); I can be really happy the rest of my life now that I got my Flash Hard Drive
BUT AFTER WHAT HAPPENED THIS AFTERNOON I DON’T KNOW HOW TO FEEL!
The thing is that early in the morning my mother gave me a new jacket to wear in the public act in which I was going to be given a pretty important scolarship (I don’t care about clothes very much, but considering that that piece of garment looks quite “posh” I guess I should thank my mother several times :P), then I was given the scolarship and… In the afternoon… My Godmother bought for both my sister and me a quite good digital camera!! We’ve been the rest of the day playing around with both devices, I even forgot to take that posh jacket off!
Oh dear… The things I really like can not be bought -at least, not with money-, but all this is such a great help… How pathetic I am sometimes…
By the way, there’s a new layout at Diletante.Net.
Hi there!
I’m just back from London
It was plenty of Spaniards everywhere!!
The whole thing has been nice. Short, but nice. But I miss the “deep” England, though; next time I’ll go elsewhere in England. I might visit Helen, if she allows me to, of course!
Oh, incidentally, Helen has got a new layout at her Werewolves listing so go visit it and consider joining if you love those creatures (one of the few types of imaginary creatures I like).
Well, whatever, I’m really tired right now and I am trying to tidy up the new version of .:.CC.:. :dead:, so I’d better be going.
And I still have to check my e-mail and all that! I’ll tell you more later.
Have a nice Christmas Holidays, whether you believe in that or not!!
Hi there!
Shae has finished her site about the Russian Language; she’s done a great job there and it’s worthwhile taking a look at it. Consider joining if you like the topic!
On the other hand, I got very sad and surprised when I saw a message in Ajda’s site stating that she had closed “Miss Marple” for good
But, fortunatly, she said that she is not really leaving us
I know she was visited by quite a lot of people, so a lot of us we’ll be glad when she comes back
What else…
Oh, yes! I’m off to London .
But I’ll be back the 24th with new layouts for Diletante.Net and .:.CC.:. Please, don’t forget me
So, this is all so far.
Have a nice holiday season!
I’m not much of a test freak but… Well, let’s say it: I AM a test & quiz freak, but I just don’t enjoy letting everybody know
I’m posting this one just… Well, just because
I am 80% British, just like
Mr Bean
Shy to the point of ridicule, you’ve probably never been out of the UK.
Take the Brit Quiz at

Quiz written by Daz
I’ve been 12 times to London and in 11 days I’m travelling again there for the first time in 9 years
This will be my 13th time
I’m looking forward to it… Oh! Incidentally: this will be another of my Godmother’s generous presents
(And “left” is NOT the right side to drive on!)
Today’s the 25th anniversary of the last (so far) Spanish Constitution and everyone who has turned 25 years old (like our Constitution) or 18 (the age you can vote, buy tobacco & alcohol and go to jail) has been sent a copy of its text. In case you don’t know yet, I am in the first group of “lucky ones” (25). I have several copies of several Spanish constitutions, but I like this last one I have been sent because it also has the text in Galician.
I’ve been taking a look at all of them last night and I realised the 1978 one (the latest so far) is not at all the most progressist one (well, I already knew that, I just wanted to confirm it ;)): I think the one from 1812 (called “la Pepa” because it was approved on Saint Joseph’s day -Joseph=José=Pepe) was pretty progressist in many senses, and the Republican one (1931-1936, just before the Civil War and Franco’s Dictatorship) was exemplar in the way women were treated and, sadly, that has not been improved nowadays; for example: the heir to the throne in Spain is not the first child of the king, but the first male child. Anyway, that’s rather pathetic too: monarchies are out of date, but at least I don’t have much trouble with the Royal Family being around.
Well, I guess no one cares much about recent Spanish history, so I’ll go to the point: I am working hard (as hard as my pre-doctorate thesis permits ) on the transformation of Glossa/Linguae Forum into a group blog. I have finished the 5th version of Diletante.Net (but I cannot uploaded now: it’s based on the New Year 8-)); I have almost finished the 9th version of .:.CC.:., and this time (I hope) it will have interesting sections and they will be finished and uploaded since the very first day
Oh! Incidentally, have you see what appears in the comments pop-up? I love smilies
I wish you all a nice week-end.
Ciao! I’m going to celebrate 25 years of democracy
Oh! And… ¡Halá Madrid !
