SUMMERTIME

I’m doing a course for teaching Spanish as a foreign language and I am really enjoying it, that’s why I haven’t posted or done anything specially important lately on the Net, but I’m beginning to miss it quite a lot =).

Besides, I’m giving tiny retouches to that %&$& thesis of mine :P, but it is practically finished now (about %%%% time, I know :geeked:).

What else… Oh, I’ve applied for an European program and it is plausible that you will see me round Poland, Holland or Ireland from January on. Take for sure that if I am sent to one of those places I will try to visit all of you, Net friends of mine, that live round the area (yep, it is a threaten :))

Incidentally, my sentimental life resembles one of those stupid American series we all enjoy so much :dead:… Whatever, I am more than vacinated…

Anyway, I haven’t been totally inactive in the Net: I’ve been receiving new hostees to this domain, and as soon as they have all their stuff here, I’ll do a “formal presentation” of them all ;).

So, this is all so far.
I hope you are enjoying yourself a lot, whether you are on holidays or not ;).
Ciao!

SOCIETAS POTTERICA

For your own good, I won’t talk about my “Earthly life” today so…

I have finished (more-less) the site about the Harry Potter series quotes; I still have to add tiny retouches to the script in order to make it fit my idea, but you can already begin to think/search for and send me your favourite quotes =). It doesn’t matter in what language you read/heard them, just write it down and tell me the name of the character who said it (or just “narrator”), the book or film title and -if possible- the chapter name and/or number where it appears.

You will be able to add the quotes by yourself once the site is finished, but I just wanted to leave a “I’m alive” note (a bit “:dead:”, but still alive ) with some entertainment for you included…

By the way, thanks to those of you who commented on my last entry. As usual, I’ve answered all comments :geeked:.
So, this is all so far.
Ciao!

NOWHERE

I’m not sent to Warsaw. Vilnius liked me, but in order to be chosen I would have to attend a course in Madrid which clashes with another important course I have in Santiago, and even if I managed to attend both courses it wouldn’t be sure that they sent me to Vilnius either so…
I had to resign from the assistantship as a teacher of Spanish as a foreing language :(.

When I was thinking over the issue before taking my final decission, a phrase of the type I usually write on my Spanish “sort-of-blog” crossed my mind: “everybody likes me, nobody wants me” (in Spanish the verb that means “to love” means “to want” as well)… Yeah, I know, I’ll get over it, but still: :mad2:.

So, I’m not sent anywhere… I’ll have to go by myself ;).

By the way, as I mentioned somewhere before, I have three web-projects in mind, and those are not (*surprisingly* :P) fanlisting related. They were just ideas last week, but I have been developing them as a theraphy :geeked:: they’ll be about tutorials -and translated scripts- (in Spanish), Gymnastics (in Spanish) and Harry Potter quotes (Spanish-English, since the original books are written in English, but I might do it in other languages as well, such as Galician and French).

There: disappointment is my fuel =).

Well, I’d better be going, my little creature is waiting for me to take care of her (my thesis, yeah, who haven’t guessed it?).

Take care. Ciao!

I’M OFFICIALLY IN PREGNANT, lol

Wow, quite a lot stuff happened since last time I posted…
Well, not really, but quite intense, indeed.

First of all: I am officially in pregnant . Yep, this statement is tricky, here’s the explanation.
The only time I had taken a blood annalyisis in my life was in 1984 when I got surgeon in my eyes (strabismus). I don’t even know my blood type, so I was a little curious about that and my blood state in general, but to take a blood annalysis here you have to state a reason for it; “curiosity” is not a valid reason, so the doctor, who is a friend of my family, put “first pregnancy” in the document . So, I took the blood test this morning and I almost fainted. I got a bit dizzy near the end of the blood extraction, but I thought it to be normal, I kept talking to the nurse and so on, but suddenly, when she was filling the last tube, my blood stopped running. The nurse raised her eyes and she got a bit anxious when looking at my face. She asked “are you feeling dizzy?” (well, in Spanish :P) But I just replied: the normal, I guess. But apparently, as she told me later, my lips were just as white as my skin. So, she made me stand up in order to lay me down on a stretcher… I prefered to stay sit and told her that it was my body the one who was feeling dizzy, “I am ok thank you”, but as I was saying this, she helped me to stand up and in that moment I could actually see myself outside my body! I’m telling you! I do really believe that I managed to not totally lose my conciousness because it was the first time I felt so stunned in my life and I didn’t miss to skip a second of that feeling :geeked:.

I’m not scared of blood of anything (I’m not a big fan of it either :dead:) but I guess that the fact of me having fasted for nearly 12 hours and the fact that I couldn’t sleep at all because of several things I had in mind are the main reason for that unexpected dizziness of mine.

Oh, incidentally, for all of you who like gossiping stuff ;): I’m “in pregnant”, but still a virgin; who said it was “so” impossible?.

Secondly: I have just come from the open reading of the exams I took for that job at the Educational Public System of the region of Galicia. I was a bit nervous, but not much really. As always in this type of events, everybody hates me for looking quite cool, but I must recognise I get as nervous as everyone. It’s only that I don’t find the point of exteriorising it :). Well, it’s already done and I’m glad because while reading I think I was able to keep everyone’s dignity. As you may already know, I haven’t studied AT ALL for these exams, and there are people who have been preparing them for years, so I just mentioned what I knew for sure so the tribunal didn’t have to hear too much nonsense from me, and I managed to remember that I know quite a lot of stuff for sure ;).

And changing the topic, Samanta didn’t mind the database “accident” at all, so I’m glad for that too, but I’m still feeling sorry about the whole thing. To make myself feel a bit better I fixed a couple of tiny errors with the php includes that Ajda -another of my hostees who recently got a domain for her site- had in her pages… Without asking her for permission… Fortunatly she is a very understanding person too :D.

Well, if you feel like reading about my sometimes called *interesting* life, I can tell you that on Sunday evening my father almost got killed at some friends’ place by one of one of those tools you use to sharpen wood surfaces. He got injured in his left hand and in his neck, but fortunately it was only a fright. The bad thing is that both my father and the friend who was with him while the accident happened are very hypocondriac people, so their attitude when talking about the issue is becoming rather annoying… For heavens sake, it’s only a couple of cuts!!

Whatever. My thesis is still killing me, but I have almost finished it (about time, I know, I know).

And… Enough for today.
I’m still excited about everything, so I’d better stop here or I’ll keep writing about odds and pieces such as my new Internet projects (Ajda knows them ;)), and this post is already too long, so…

Hasta la próxima =).
P.S.: I miss you Frauke, I hope you are doing well…

TWO BADS AND A HALF, TWO GOOD :-/

First bad piece of news:
Marlon Brando has died…
I know, I know, he was just a shadow of himself.
But still: he was himself…

Second one:
I’ve accidentally lost one of my hostees MySQL database… I ALWAYS keep backups of everything. But I managed to delete it the day after the PC was formatted, and I forgot to got new backups this morning… Bl**dy Murphy Laws :mad2:… Lo siento de veras, Elena; espero poder compensarte de algún modo :(.

The one that I think is extremely bad, but that nobody cares about:
I’m stuck with my thesis. The more I want to get rid of it, the more “she” (in Spanish “thesis” is feminine, and it has become a part of my life ) seems to stay with me for good. I am unable to work on “her” for more than five minutes each time.

This is the first good one: the sixth, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince :).
La traducción del título en español sería Harry Potter y el príncipe mestizo, aunque lo cierto es que en los libros se suele usar el término “sangre mezclada” para referirse a los descendientes de magos y de otra cosa ;).

The second good one noone cares about: we got a DVD device for the living-room TV, I’m not that materialist, but it’s good because I know that my sister wanted one and she will get really glad when she finds out. I already got a DVD device in my laptop PC, but she didn’t like watching films on the TFT screen…

Gosh, I’m terribly sorry about my hostees thing… And about Brando.
I wish you sweet nightmares… I mean, dreams.
Have a nice weekend.
