NOSTALGIA

Nostalgia, that’s the word.
No “morriña” or “saudade” (Galician words for a deep feeling of sadness for what you have left behind and that I would simply call “home sickness”). It’s just nostalgia: we have had a rather rainy day today in Lódz but not too cold actually and then, after several quite unpleasant hours of rain and wind, the sun appeared as if it was magic or something… Quite a Galician day…

So, after the Spanish lessons I gave and the Polish lessons I received, I got online and listened to Radio Galega (public Galician radio station) and Cadena Ser (an importan Spanish radio station: I love their football programs :geeked:); I also took a look at some pictures of my home town: Pontevedra and took a virtual tour of Galicia through its main webcams in order to check what was going on round there =). I listened to some Galician music too, of course .

Then I logged on the Messenger and voilà: there was one of my Galician cousins…

I like Spain in general and specially my Comunity: Galicia a lot, but the idea of not spending much time there in the next 9 months doesn’t make me feel specially sad… I’m feeling so comfortable here in Poland, in spite of some difficulties and differences, that it is easy for me to vividly relive “Galician scenes”. It wasn’t that way in the USA: after three weeks there I could even forget who I had been in my homeplace; interesting feeling, but not nice once you realise that…

Whatever. Today has been a nostalgic day, but a happily nostalgic one :)

Oh, for what is worth, I made some tiny retouches to Collectanea.Org.
Czesc!
